Age Old Adages To Regale The Unfortunate
The story of Ventio Mortis takes place in a small and unsuspecting city, where Hollowelle lives on the outskirts in the forest and ruins of older times, running the sewers like a penthouse of her own with her crew of undead handy-men. Having lived here longer than she had ever lived anywhere before, she became uncharacteristically comfortable in her territory, but reality would surely shake things up when two of her wards are caught up in the middle of a murder investigation. Will Hollowelle throw her wards to the wolves, or will the wolf take Hollowelle itself?
Ventio Mortis is a horror dating sim, where you play as Hollowelle Neaera, an undead creature of sorts, cursed by her own black magic to walk the earth forever until her bitter vengeance is finally satiated. With her are her dearest wards: Napoleon, a creature sewn together from all of Hollowelle's favorite bits and pieces of prettier people, and topped off with the heart of her would-be lover, had things taken another turn. Inan, the man with the steady hand, and the only ward Hollowelle has ever kept for more than a hundred years or so, due to his incredible capacity to thrive in his afterlife and lack of ties to his humanity. And of course, Drisdon, the unwavering lapdog, which despite his many faults, has stayed on Hollowelle's crew through sheer determination and his ability to make up for his mistakes ten-fold.
Hollowelle and her bund require living flesh and blood in order to sustain themselves comfortably, else they'll be nothing more than barely breathing rotting corpses. However, when the newest member of the bund, Robbie, begins causing problems with Drisdon for seemingly no reason, it must be put to a stop lest the two big-mouth pugilists give way to the bund's unsavory doings.
Decide how to move forward with the bund and the detective as Hollowelle, and perhaps even find romance and companionship along the way!
2 endings per character at the least are planned, as well as 3 overall endings, and many other outcomes that can be effected through gameplay to give you a unique and personal experience where your choices matter.

Holding Hands With Zombies
The AbominationA living marriage of alchemy and black magic, born of the heart of a would-be lover, Napoleon is Hollowelle's greatest creation and most beloved ally. Having been the only being to ever be allowed to stay indefinitely among Hollowelle's ranks as a result of her very existence.

The CerebralIn Inan's living years, he was wealthy and given all the opportunities one might ask for, and still none of it mattered. A golden spoon couldn't stop the pain of being misunderstood, and Inan's superior intelligence did not help. Now he studies alongside Hollowelle, spending his free time disputing the existence of magic despite his very existence, cleaning crime scenes, and studying corpses, free to indulge in his scientific curiosities. He is Hollowelle's longest standing ward, outside of Napoleon.

The AllegiantStruggling to be the perfect ward for Hollowelle, Drisdon is still very much in tune with his humanity -- much to the Witch's disgust and dismay. Unlike the rest of his kin, he did not die of suicide; perhaps the root of his still lingering empathy is to be credited to that fact. He would do anything for Hollowelle, though, if it meant that she would care for him as he does her. However, as it stands, his feelings remain unrequited.

The FirebrandAfter brutally taking his own life, the rebellious and anti-authoritarian Robbie is less than pleased to be back in the world of the living as a slave to Hollowelle no less. He does not get along with any of his comrades, nor does he want to. If not bound in a blood-contract, he'd have surely taken his own life again. His revulsion to being alive and disgust with anything that would even want to breath leads Robbie to be the most brutal of all of Hollowelle's bund, unfortunately making him well suited for his line of work and indispensable to Hollowelle. No matter how much she might want to kill him herself at times.

The IncognitoHaving been abused all her life, Dharma willingly submits to Hollowelle's bund after being saved by them, inadvertently or not. She acts as the eyes on the outside for the group, and should she fail, would be forced to suffer at the hand of Inan's steady scalpel and experiments. All of which still sounds better than her previous life. She enjoys learning witchcraft, self-mutilation, and watching Inan work -- when she is not the subject on his table, of course.
